Icelandic Sheep coming to the fairgrounds!

May 4, 2017

Hello all! I want to share with you about the Icelandic Sheep my family raises on our Enfield, Maine Farm!

We are a family owned and operated Farm in Enfield Maine. Coldstream Icelandic Sheep and Wool is the a dream come true for me. Our primary  focus is raising

beautiful, purebred Icelandic sheep to provide wool for Spinners and Artisans. Icelandic sheep are an ancient very pure breed. The Vikings in Norway took their sheep with them during their exploration and Settlement  of many lands. The sails of the Viking long boats were made from woven wool as was their clothing and blankets. We would like to share some of the early history of the Viking Sheep before they were even called Icelandic.

Our lambs have visited the assisted living facility and we have drive by visit for those that have mobility issues. We support 4H and youth interested in Icelandic Sheep. We want to share our beautiful sheep with others and that is why we are happy to be at The Springfield Fair!

We will be bringing Lauren, Camilla, Hendrix, Caspian and the Orphan lambs Styles and Calico. I maybe bringing some pages from my coloring book printed up for children to color, so stop on by! We’d all love to meet you!

Looking forward to the Fair September 1st through the 4th!
