Results Of The 169th Fair

Well folks we have made it to the 169th Springfield Fair. Though we’ve had some changes, as always it’s been a fun filled day. The Exhibit Hall had many beautiful items. As usual, the crafters in the area have done a superb job. This year the Exhibit Hall had 14 entrants with a total of 132+ items. It just amazes me that there can be so much talent in one small place. The seven years that I have been doing this has shown me that given a chance, creativity comes in many forms and you are only limited by your mind’s eye.
The Dorothy McGaw award was won by Lisa Kettle for “I’ll be home for Christmas”
And on a sad note, we lost one of our dear friends--a long time fair goer and Exhibit Hall contributor, Roberta Worster Murry. She always had a smile and a kind word for someone. She was always willing to share her needle knowledge and help you learn how to make a hat or socks etc. I had it in my mind this year that I would like to have given her the Valued Senior Award. As I am one to go with my gut, I think I’m going to present the award to her husband John, in her name. We are all sorry for her passing but I think she’ll have her baseball cap on and be with us in Spirit. Thanks for the smiles and the stories Bertie---your fair family sadly misses you, but you will always be in our hearts.
Wishing you all the best that life can bring. See you next year,
Pamela
